In preparation for my month-long Vermont / Nova Scotia / Newfoundland trip, I made a camp cooking box out of a Frontrunner WolfPack ammo box. It has a sliding draw for utensils, a paper-towel dispenser, spice rack, cleaning supplies, aluminum foil, garbage bags, oven mitts, fire-starters and a handful of other items designed to make camp cooking much easier. And the cutting board and butane stove fit in the box as well. Unfortunately, after further testing, I decided to ditch this type of stove. It flamed up on me several times (bad connection to the canisters) and after reading that these things can potentially explode, I decided to drop the cash on a Partner Steel, 16" Cook Partner propane stove (which does fit in a wolfpack box, but not this box as i've built it). Wish i had known the butane stove was sketchy before building this, but I just use the extra space for food.
TireGate hitch-mount spare & gas carrier. I debated bolt-on / weld-on options but most were WAY expensive and would have presented problems (ie. in towing the airstream or to include gas cans and hi-lift = much more $) This solution is removable at any time, carries two Scepter jerry cans (for a bit extra $, yet still cheaper than the other options). I also like that the tire protects the cans from misc bumps and from a bit of shade for the cans. Also, transferable to another vehicle if needed.
a 3-weekend project, installing an ARB bumper and viking GS-9 winch. The cats were very helpful.
Rear drawer system and half of the sleeping platform for the LR3, nearing completion. I wildly messed up the dimensions on the right drawer and had to improvise a bit. HUGE thanks to the folks at eztube.com for such excellent work on the aluminum pieces. They cut to spec and were great to work with.
